So hard to say, there's been very disgusting pro palestinian and very anti israeli rallies at the big Ontario universities, where I am it's been muted for a while, which is good, it was getting quite tiresome. Unfortunately campuses kind of have to tolerate some degree of protest, but it should be scheduled and equal right of participation if it's a two sided dispute, that's what's really wrong here, the jewish students don't have an outlet.

I voted other. It's the only option that's valid.

Oct 18, 2023: Harvard: Harvard Israel-Hamas die-in protest Wed.: ‘Stop the genocide in Gaza’ – NBC Boston

I'm not going to list all of them, but just about every major university has had similar all across the US.

MIT was one of the few who stepped in and stopped it back in Oct 2023. All the other universities allowed them to continue until our House or Representatives called them in for a hearing about antisemitism on their campuses in Nov. 2023. But the protests just continued and continued and continued. And then major donors started withholding funds to those institutions, etc.

And only recently has the universities started cracking down on the on-campus protests, but the same protests continue outside of the campuses now rather than on campus.

The time to crack down on this was mid ~ end of Oct. 2023... long before the House hearing was scheduled. But they didn't do it. And it grew and grew and grew.

We are now in Apr 2024, almost 6 months later... way to late to do anything but fire all the heads of the schools that didn't move in Oct. and close all those schools down for a month.

Say what? Close schools for a month? Well, with all the protests previous on campus and now just outside of campus, it's still a hostile environment to have to go to school in, so shut it down for a month or until the protests end!

They are also threatened with violence which the schools are ignoring.

Why not tell the protestors to leave? Why pick on the victims?

They should have forced the protesters off of campus towards the end of Oct. 2023. Here we are 6 months later and things have only gotten worse.

It's due to their inaction in Oct 2023 that caused the escalation that we continue to see today.

The days of the elite colleges seem to be over.  Elite is an east coast term anyway.  The ivies are all solidly in the Northeast which doesn’t carry the same prestige in other parts of the country.  California has its one elite system but it’s mainly for residents of the state. UCLA, Berkeley and Stanford are considered elite for people who live there.  The Ivy League schools are good in terms of being difficult to get into but so are other colleges today.

Kewl... this will lose them students and prestige and with that federal funds as well.

They decided to allow these unsafe for the students protests on their campuses... now they will pay the price for their inaction.
